June 30, 200917 yr Got an email today he will be put in the jail in Inez KY. Yeah, but is it going to be the minimum security or maximum security? They have both at Big Sandy.
June 30, 200917 yr Deliberately ruining peoples lives and what they have worked for their whole lives is pretty evil. I've seen EVIL, and there's a lot worse a person can do to you than taking your money.
July 1, 200917 yr Got an email today he will be put in the jail in Inez KY. I guess this is the reverse of the "Beverly Hillbillies"?:idunno: I am wondering if Mrs. Madoff may want to invest in some Elliott County property? I am sure someone would give her a good deal.......................
July 1, 200917 yr I'm having a bit of trouble feeling sorry for these formerly wealthy victims who had no trouble living off of their 10-20% gains year-in and year-out without ever questioning why their rate of return was so much higher than everyone else's and where the profits were coming from. Some of these poor people will have to come out of retirement and go back to work. That must suck when you're all of 45 years old. Great risk is the brother of great returns.
July 1, 200917 yr Author ^ I feel sorry for them not bc of their situation.....(45yrs old retirement, plush lifestyle, etc.), rather of what was done and how it was done to them by Madoff and family. Although I don't consider it evil I do consider it major and 100% agree with him never seeing the light of day again. I also hope they nail his wife and brother to the wall as well. Madoff is a slime ball and he got what he deserved.

I agree with you about risk and return being brothers. I disagree with your opinion of the victims. I don't care what your background is, you do not deserve to be treated like Madoff et al treated these people. I think everyone on the 17th floor deserves the fate of their boss. I don't have sympathy for anyone (including myself) who put money in the market and lose, because it is a risk. But to be swindled is horrid. I think it is great if you can retire at 45 due to good planning and investing, but to think they should , "just go back to work like everyone else" is a bad attitude towards the victims. Just remember, not everyone that Madoff swindled were blue blood and filthy rich. There were many who were just trying to diversify and plan for their retirement that they no longer have. I think that they deserve better and therefore Madoff got what was coming to him. Jmo.

July 1, 200917 yr Got an email today he will be put in the jail in Inez KY. He will have fun there. Have quite a few friends who work there and used to live about 5 minutes from there. Having toured the place...it is exactly where he deserves to spend the last of his days.
July 2, 200917 yr Hey guys, I never said that Madoff didn't deserve what he got. I hate scammers, cheats and embezzelers. I just said maybe some of the investers got what they deserved. One in particular pulled out 5 BILLION more than he invested. You have an obligation to be active in the safety of your investments. As the saying goes, a fool and his money are soon parted.
