confusion
He had good success at Nelson County. His teams were playoff teams every year except the last one. He beat Manual in the playoffs one season, and gave Michael Bush and Male all they wanted another season. His departure at Nelson was pure politics with a 0-10 glove on. Bill is a solid man, solid leader, solid coach. He deserves this second chance and his old Bardstown friends wish him well. The 0-10 season, really clouded everyone from the 1st 3 seasons that Mason had at NC. They were extremely competitive and he always plays tough schedules. This is a good situation for Bill and he will be a huge asset for the Mercer/Harrodsburg community.
fear_the_mullet
I don't know of anyone in recent history who has been able to really compete out of Nelson Co. Since Mason left they haven't won many games, 12-22 since '05. mason had one bad season, and got the boot under some very politically charged conditions. He has now willingly inherited a team that graduated close to 30 seniors, is only returning 3 starters on defense(2 DB, 1 DL), and only 5 or more on offense (3 OL, 2 QB). With Mercers tough local schedule and talented group of inexperienced youngsters they will have a great season to go .500 or to make the playoffs. Best of luck, be ready to hit the ground running after dead period! Go titans.

coldweatherfan
Who do you feel will be Mercers toughets opponent. I would say Lafayette and Boyle. They also added another Lexington team not sure if it's Tates Creek or Dunbar. But I think the district games are all winnable.

I don't see them beating Boyle, Anderson, Lafayette, Breathitt but I think that the others are winnable.
