Ouch!

You know, I never thought the MP40 was all that big a deal, but I guess I wasn't paying attention. I've noticed more and more that when I'm getting killed, it's by that.

My favorite gun to use is the STG-44 followed by the PPSH. This game is nowhere near as good as COD4, and I don't have a reference for the ones that came before it, at least not on the consoles. I played the original on PC, and it was alright. My biggest gripe with WAW is the tanks. If you're playing a map with tanks, it's going to be a bad round right away. So Roundhouse, Seelow, Downfall, Outskirts, all terrible.

I hate the tanks. I just think they are a bad part of the game. With the maps that have tanks there should be an equivalent to that for the other team to use.

The only gun that I actually like is the M1A1. The only problem is that I have a very quick trigger finger and break the speed cap so easy it ruins my games.

Try playing the hardcore mode, no tanks at all...

I only play hardcore. I think it makes the game more fun knowing that you have no crosshairs and have use the gun's sights. Also nice knowing that first shot usually wins.

Totally agree with you here.

I forget, do they have Hardcore Capture the Flag? I play mostly CTF these days. If it's Hardcore Objective, pass. I hate some of the games like Domination and War.

My only problem with tanks is the amount it takes to kill them. On a healthy tank, two satchel charges and an grenade. Good luck staying alive long enough to do that.

I disagree with you all on the tanks. I like them there I think it adds to the game. It can be abused though when only one team gets to them. But they start with 2 tanks and 1 near each team's initial spawning point so I don't see the big problem.

I would rather there be tanks than have the tanks turned off and have a map of nothing but camping snipers.

I have been involved in maps where both have happened (sniper party or 1 team with both tanks) and it isn't fun. But whenever there is a good balance in the game I think it is excellent.

I suspect I am the only guy here playing it on PC so I have my own list of gripes with the game that don't apply to you console people.

I can avoid and kill snipers. At the end of the day, a person could grab a sniper rifle and theoretically kill a sniper with one shot. But when someone is in a tank, if you don't have a tank to jump into, and ESPECIALLY if you don't have a class dedicated to killing a tank, you are more than likely going to die if you run into one. The only way to kill a tank usually is to be in one, and what fun is that? Rarely have I played a close, competitive game on a tank map. Usually, through one way or another, one team gains control of more tanks or has a healthy tank with no other on the board, and that team dominates.

Don't take this personally, as you may or may not fall into this category, but the least skilled players I know are the ones that use tanks, and they love the tanks because it gives them the chance to rack up kills and be competitive. Instead of getting better at the rest of the game, they use that crutch to get along.

You might say, why don't I just get in a tank? Sometimes, I do. I get so fed up with it, I hop in a tank, get my 15 kills in a row, call my dogs, etc. It's not fun.

Oh I never use the tanks myself. In fact it is quite rare that I do. Even then it is rare that I have seen people stay alive in them long enough to do much damage. I have found that most people on my servers are pretty adept at taking them out either with bazookas, sachels or the AT grenade. Maybe it is a difference with the PC players I dunno but it has never been an issue except when one team specifically camps the tanks and those instances are few and far between.

You always know where the tanks are, snipers are more irritating in my opinion because you don't know where they are. Kind of hard to hide in a tank.

Most of my classes have some sort of AT ability so it is of no hindrance to me. Besides I find that the bazooka normally has some other benefits as well when folks are holed up in a bunker.
