Who wins the series and why? Games are scheduled for June 2, 3 and 4 (if necessary) at 6:00 p.m. at St. Henry High School.

Harrison County gets revenge for 2006 Semi-State loss to Beechwood at Harrison County in an emotional series. Harrison's pitching depth and experience despite having only 4 Seniors, 1 of which is an everyday starter will carry them back to Applebee's Park for the 2nd year in a row. It should be a good series with big crowds from both sides. Good luck to the Thorobreds!

Beechwood was loaded with Senior talent the last time they squashed the Breds down on the Hilltop. Not so this time. Both teams are very young overall. Although the series is probably a coin flip since the teams appear to be copycats (fundamentally sound, light hitting, decent pitching), I think the coin falls HC's way this time in a very close series. Definitely would prefer to see the Beechies win and will be pulling for our local boys. I've only seen Beechwood play twice and never seen HC play so it is very difficult to make an educated judgement. Best of luck to BW!

If I'm not mistaken it was 2-0 in games and the scores were 6-5 (9 innings) and 5-1, so I'm not sure that qualifies as squashing the Breds in 2006.

Two games to none is whipping, squashing, or whatever you want to call it. If HC beats Beechwood two games to none, which they very well might, it will be the same thing. Should be good series but I think HC will win unless their bats go to sleep as they have done some this year.

It's always so good to hear from you Flash!

Harrison County. Beechwood has had a good year, but I don't see them dodging a bullet twice.

That is why they play the game go for it Beechwood. JD

Harrison 2 straight run rules!!!!

Even if it is they are playing in the sectionals.

Just hoping 9th region isn't portrayed as weak this year!

Must not be hoping too much with your first comment. I guess if some invloved with your team did not have your attitude they may be playing this week. Never under estimate the HEART of a TEAM! :thumb:

I expect it to be close, but I see the tough schedule the Breds have played this year being a key factor. Breds in two close ones. I do predict a lot of small ball on both sides.

I think you're insinuating that some of the boys on CovCath's team had a negative attitude or view of Beechwood or in general and if so youre way off base. CovCath's team had plenty of heart. They sure showed a lot of it ten run ruling Beechwood and shutting them out the other two times. Sometimes things just don't fall your way, or they way it probably should. Doubt any of it had to do with a bad attitude ;) Good luck to Beechwood this week as I believe they'll need some. Represent the 9th region well.

Yo Oscar, I think you had one too many cookies. Beechwood only lost to CCH twice. Once in district play and once in district tourney. I think Coach is just trying to make a point about CCHlongball, wishing BW gets run ruled twice rather than rooting for the 9th region team.
