This game was never in doubt as Scott is hitting the ball well right now and they hit Mynear very well for a kid throwing mid 80's.

They hit Mynear better than I expected them too. However, Pendleton County, not known for its good hitting also hit Mynear well and beat the Jackets 4-1 at Nicholas earlier in the year. Tonight's championship game could be a good one. Good luck to Coach W. and the Thorobreds.

Pendleton also hit the ball very well against Mynear in the first round of districts. No disrespect to Mynear, but from what I've seen, saying he throws mid-80's seems a little generous.

What about Campbell, what kind of stuff does he have? Did he have a successful season?

Campbell has a solid curveball but I wouldn't say he throws much harder, if at all harder than Mynear.

The Mynear kid tore his ACL in football season has only been back since late April so he hasn't been throwing as hard as last year. Nicholas lost 4 players in the beginning 2 seniors and 2 juniors. They pulled up several younger players who did a great job stepping up. To go through what they did and have a winning season is a great accomplishment.

I don't think anyone will question that. Nichoals county went through a lot this year, and Region semi-finalist is nothing to be ashamed of that's for sure :thumb:

This is the first Nicholas Co. baseball team in history to get to the semi-finals of the region back to back years. So for them to do that with everything they have faced this year I would say thats a huge Accomplishment.

What do they have coming back next season? Can they contend once again? They have an excellent baseball feeder program in their lower grades and it looks to be paying off.
