Those are some pretty good ideas!

This seems like one of the Louisville schools that just can't get a coach to stay long enough to get things turned around.

What is the teaching situation at the schools? How much administration support do you get as a coach? How are the facilities? What is the pay scale compared to other schools?

I would assume all Jefferson County schools have the same pay scale. One would think!

Its all about Numbers. I had two boys go to Atherton and like I said I went to Iroquois. Coaches Beatty/Glaser would have problems with the numbers at those two schools. Coach Collins had gotton more kids to come out and so did the Coach for the Raiders, but when they move on....

I'm not sure of the number assistants they had, but that has to enter into the problem for the kids.

Shawn was our D-Coordinator at Ballard last year (did a great job -- was major part of how much we improved by the end of the year). However, because he teaches at Male (south end of Louisville, by the airport) it made it too difficult for him to feel like he could do the job the way it needed be done at a school on the northeast end of the county.

Won't be long until someone snatches him up for a head coaching position somewhere -- he's QUALITY in lots of ways (math certified, has taught calculus, great character guy).

You are so right. Really hated to see Shawn leave Mason County but understood why he did. He truly cares about the kids and loves the game.
