Final from the B-town complex.

HHS drops to 11-15 on the year. Saw a lot of good and a lot of bad in this game. Seems to be the storyline this year for HHS. They can't seem to string victories together. Hopefully with the draw they got in the Districts will help. They have less than two weeks to put it together. Times running out guys.

 

Sat out in the outfield today and talked with Tracy Jones. Pretty cool guy. Loves baseball that's for sure. Some of the things he pointed out with Bellevue, could have been talking about HHS.

I did like how Coach Jeremy Krumps put down the 2-run squeeze play.

In basketball there is rule called disconcertion. It comes into play when a FT shooter is distracted intentionally by the defenders in the lanes. Is there anything like that for baseball? I ask because I heard something I don't think I've heard in a baseball game before. With the count at 3 balls right when the pitcher was going to throw the other team all yelled something in unison and it worked.

What a game!

Bellevue goes up 1-0 in the 1st, Highlands comes back with 3 runs in the

2nd, Bellevue ties the game, Highlands adds another run in the 4th, Bellevue breaks through with 5 in the 5th, going up 8-4. Highlands comes right back with 4 in the top of the sixth to tie (3 run homer for Head), Bellevue scores 2 in the bottom of sixth and then holds on in the 7th, Jimmy Scott striking out Rosenhagen to end the game. A great game to watch. Scott goes the distance for Bellevue, not sure who started for the Birds. Sainola (I think) hits one out for Highlands.

I believe that Oliver Head hit a 3 run homer in the top of 6 for the Birds. Joel Daley was the pitcher that started for the birds.

I'm glad were not playing basketball, if indeed that was your interpretation of what happened. The pitcher was definitely rattled and was having trouble throwing strikes. The Bellevue bench was excited and cheering their batter on. Not once did they use the pitchers name or yell directly at him. Give credit where credit is due. Bellevue didn't have their best defensive game going but They were able to over come it and win the game. Give the Birds credit they never quit, scoring 8 runs should win most games.

I believe this was tong in cheek, referring to the squeeze by Highlands which Bellevue botched and allowed not only the runner from third to score but the runner on second to score as well.

Great game all around, like most figured it would be. Back and forth all night, and the Tigers bats woke up and put up 10 runs on the Birds for the win. Can't wait to see if these two can play in the District Finals
