Track The Cubs (Week 5)

I wonder how much longer Sweet Lou will go with defense over offense in the outfield. Johnson has really struggled.

Reed hasn't been getting as much PT lately. I really like the Soriano, Fukudome, Hoffpauir outfield for Offense but I think Bradley will get in a groove soon too

Reed Johnson had a HUGE game last night, had a bases loaded triple and scored twice on passed balls by Pudge. Cubs beat the Stros 6-3. No disrespect towards the Cards but as a Cubs fan I'm feeling pretty good, with all the injuries and clearly not playing up to potential so far for what ever reasons, and the Cards playing as well as they can possibly play and we are still just 2.5 games back. Go Cubs!

Ted Lilly gets his 4th win of the season, Soriano hits his 8th Homer and the Cubs defeat the Stros 8-5

That second homer by Soriano was such a huge mistake by the pitcher! He grooved him one right down the middle of the plate.

On a funny note, after school I told my son that "Ramirez got caught in a drug test and is out for 50 games." My son turned pale and braced himself against the counter. I neglected to mention which Ramirez, and he thought it was ARam! Poor kid, I nearly gave him heart failure!

Watching Ramirez lie in the 3rd base path, clearly in agony, was horrible. I felt like I was going to cry for him. I really hope it is just a dislocated shoulder and nothing more long term.

Cubs lose it in the 8th on a Braun homer and Ramirez is out until who-knows-when with a dislocated shoulder. I felt so sorry for him--he was in excruciating pain.

Coming into tonight, the Cubs were 5-6 with him out of the lineup and 11-6 with him in the lineup. HUGE loss.

If there's a best case scenario, it was at least his non-throwing shoulder

How did he injure his shoulder? Who will get the time at 3B? Do they have an up and coming prospect in the minors to bring up?

Do you feel like you jinxed Ramirez with your little prank on your son? :scared:

Yes, that is exactly what I thought. And it was even an unintentional prank! I thought he would know I meant Manny, I wasn't even thinking of Aramis. Now look what I did...

He dove for a ball. I imagine Fontenot will get the majority of PT. If Aramis is done for the year, they may make a move. Josh Vitters is tearing it up in double A, but he's a year or 2 away from the show, but he's the 3B of the future for the Cubs. Hopefully he won't be out too long but I'd guess a month at least...

This team is stressing me out too much. Between them and trying to buy a house, I'm gonna have a stroke. I'll check back around the all-star break

I'm the same way. It is only May and I'm already standing on the ledge!
