Just got home but am far too tired and sleepy to post anything but to say, Nutini, Krumme and Isler each throw seven innings complete games and each earn a victory.

CANNONSBURG — Covington Catholic reigned supreme once again in the Town Square Bank Derby Classic with three convincing victories over two days at Boyd County High School.

 

It was the second straight year the Colonels emerged as the tournament champions.

First I would like to thank the good folks of Boyd County for inviting CovCath to their tournament. Theoldguy enjoys attending this baseball weekend more than any other baseball weekend he attends and that includes the summer baseball season, with trips to some rather large cities.

 

Yea, I know the LIT had some better team in it, but the friendly folks of Boyd County sure do know how to extend true Southern Hospitality to their guest and you won't find better food than those pulled pork sandwiches anywhere. :notworthy::notworthy::notworthy:

Would rather not go there, as the very young looking man (31) had a very rough day on the hump as did the other pitcher.

 

Goldie, I was talking to some of the Clark fans during the Boyd vs Franklin County game and before our game and they told me that Clark is a very, very young team . They (IMO) have a way to go, but today at least, they played hard and your young men did not quit. Good luck to them in the future.

Freshman, very first appearance in a varsity game. Tough way to start your career, against the #6 team in the state. GRC was flat out of pitching and has a district game this Tuesday. Bunch of players playing out of position in this one as well.
