Middlesboro wins a pitcher's duo. Only 5 hits in the game that took just over 1 1/2 hours to play.

That was one heck of a game. Raceland I give you your props, you held right in there with us in a long trip to Middlesboro. Congrats Jackets! Raceland you are a class act, even in taking the loss. Pittman is finally coming around from his quad injury, with 14ks. Way to go Jackets. :ylsuper:

Talked to my friend from Middlesboro this morning and he said you couldn't have asked for a better pitching performance from either pitcher. He said that one base hit made the difference in the game and it was the one that the Mason kid had to score someone from second. He said that Raceland had a couple of opportunities to do this as well but Pittman closed the door.

 

He said Pittman had 14 Ks and 1 BB and while he didn't know the stats for the Raceland kid, he would guess that he had about 9 Ks and 4 BBs but was equally as dominant.

 

I think Middlesboro plays Murray in the first round.

This was an outstanding game to watch. It only took an 1hour & 40 min to play.This was true pitchers duel. It was a shame someone had to lose this game. The Pittman kid was outstanding and Wilson was equal to the task. The 14 strikeouts by Pittman was something to see considering the way the Rams have been hitting the ball. They have hit the ball hard all season and at least put it in play. Striking out a lot as a team hasn't really happened. Congradulations to Middlesboro and good luck in the State. Also I would like to mention the OUTSTANDING job the umpires did in this game. This was the best umpired game I have ever seen in a High School game you guys should be proud of yourselves. Yes this is coming from a Ram fan that happened to be on the losing end of the game.

I read it again and also done a little research, and fond out that someone was Evan Womack who has been really hitting the ball well for Middlesboro and Scott Mason has done very well also getting his first HR a few games back. Again great job by both players congradulations on your BIG win and keep working hard.

Raceland had 4 hits and Middlesboro had 3. Middlesboro had the hit when they needed it. Raceland had there chance but couldn't get it done. Hats off to Middlesboro. And good luck next week. No complaints about the game. Good called game also.
