What does CAL need to do to improve in 2009? What do they need to keep doing to be successful? Remember, please be constructive.

They need some speed. The line should have good size, and quit a few starters returning.:thumb:

I heard that their numbers are down, several kids have given up football.

Any CAL fans out there to shed some light on the program?

They ran that?

A game early in the season that I saw -- they ran it. Or at least attempted to.

They did the best they could with want they have, they were very young last year only 4 SR.

I agree. Did not mean to disparage. What I meant to say was that it would take (IMVHO) a pretty good collection of atheletes - skill players - and line to be able to effectively try and run that Offense.

They seemed to struggle with it and you have very ably explained why.

Thanks for that, I think they will be better this year. I hear their front 5 will be pretty big, and their center is getting a lot of D1 looks. All though their schedule is going to be a bear from what I hear. :thumb:

It looks like the CAL and Desales game is going to be the one to watch again this year. Any one know any thing about this match up?

What do both teams run on offense and "D"? I know DeSales use to run the Wing "T" but I haven't watched them in quite a while. Someone said that CAL use to run the A-11 but obviously they can't now. I have no clue what "D" either runs. Good luck to both teams especially when they match up this coming year.

I went to the CAL's spring game Friday night. Was REALLY impressed by the DEFENSE. They were very aggressive with a good push up front from the D-Line. Their safety's and linebackers were very active. They kept pressure on the quarterback all night. #58 stood out on the offensive line. #3 and #13 were good receivers. But the offense had a tough time running the ball. The defense had a lot of sacks. #22 and #34 on defense will lay the wood and are definitely college prospects!
