Sportsmaniac's Redistricting 1st and 2nd Region

This looks better but I can't see moving Crittenden out of the 5th and then replacing with Dawson and Caldwell. Dawson would get to stay where they were.

Here is a better proposition.

5th: Caldwell, Lyon, Trigg, and Crittenden.

6th: Union, Henderson, Muhlenburg, and McLean.

7th: Central, North, Dawson, and Webster

8th: Christian, Hopkinsville, UHA, and Ft. Campbell.

With this alignment, only the 5th district remains a class a district. This would hack off all of Henderson, but they have had a cake walk for years in their 3 team district. I could see McLean and Webster being flipped around, travel might factor in also. The 8th district remains unchanged, unless the khsaa decides to take teams from the 4th region instead of the third.

Union County has to drive through every school in your 7th district to get to Muhlenberg County. There's no way that flies. If you wanted it to be:

5th: Caldwelll County, Crittenden County, Lyon County, Trigg County

6th: Henderson County, McLean County, Union County, Webster County

7th: Dawson Springs, Hopkins County Central, Madisonville-North Hopkins, Muhlenberg County

8th: Christian County, Fort Campbell, Hopkinsville, University Heights

I could see that working. Muhlenberg County will be with the Hopkins County schools, almost guaranteed. Hopkins County and McLean County are the only counties they even border in the 2nd Region aside from a sliver of Christian County.

I was just trying to find a way to keep all the large schools from being in two districts except Henderson who basically gets a bye to the region every year. I can also see Muhlenberg staying in the third and someone from the 4th region coming over.

The only school from the 4th that could come alone would be Todd County Central. They may come instead of McLean, but the issue is that if they alone came over without Muhlenberg County, what district do you put them in? Christian County would be the only 2nd Region county they'd touch, and they're full up in their district. It wouldn't make a lot of sense to move them into the Christian County district and ship one of them out. As mentioned in the original post, I could see them putting Todd County Central with the Hopkins County schools and Muhlenberg County, but I can't see a scenario where Todd County Central comes alone and Muhlenberg County doesn't. Now, if they took the entire 13th District, that'd be another story, but then the 2nd Region would have too many teams. They don't need that many.

I understand that you were doing it competitively, but I've never got the indication that in most regions (though not necessarily all) they place any priority on competitiveness. Travel is the primary factor, and Union County to Muhlenberg County just wouldn't work.

I understand completely. Its not fun riding big yellow to Union Co. where I am at. But let me say this, Muhlenburg is closer to Union than any 8th district team.

My edit is a post thought. It would be great if they would give some priority to competitiveness when all this has to happen. It would make for better regional tournaments.
