DEER H Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 With a 10-17 record. I thought Rains from Williamsburg did the best job this year, his girls were very much improved from the past years.
PureFan Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 Who selects the winner and what are the criteria?
HDE Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 Anderson is a great coach, but he wasn't the coach of the year this year. Rains has done a great job, but he would be my second choice. Williamsburg didn't win the All "A" or make it out of the district. Anthony Nolan should be the coach of the year. Harlan County made it to the regional finals in its FIRST year after Nolan brought together three average to bad teams into one.
footballfever Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 :confused:No way he deserves this award. Nothing against him but he didnt do a good job this year and IMO has NEVER gotten the most out of his teams.
3shooter Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 (edited) I think that these awards are laughable this year..Anderson gets coach of the year and The Jackson kid for North gets player of the year. Nothing against either, but if you are going to give these awards give them to those who deserve them. Edited March 15, 2009 by Ram Rule 13

gchs_uk9 Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 For those of us unfamiliar with 13th Region girls basketball, who is this "Anderson" and what team does he/she coach?
HDE Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 Larry Anderson Whitley County He's always been a very good coach. This was one of his worst years though. It makes no sense. Jackson is a nice player. I'd give Tyra the edge though.
play2 Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 The 13 Region Coaches Association voted Brian Harris from Jackson County coach of the year and Tyra as player of the year.
Cosmos Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 The 13 Region Coaches Association voted Brian Harris from Jackson County coach of the year and Tyra as player of the year. I thought that was who (Harris and Tyra) were recognized at the state tournament. Then why did people say that Anderson and Jackson won as player and coach of the year?
HDE Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 It's two different organizations. One was the KABC (Harris and Tyra) and the other was the 13th Region Coaches Association.
