The district finals have yet to be played, but the 8 teams headed to New Castle are:

29th - North Oldham and South Oldham

30th - Anderson County and Shelby County

31st - Owen County and Henry County

32nd - Simon Kenton and Grant County

Anderson is the odds-on favorite

North Oldham and Shelby County are the "most likely" to upset the Bearcats. Both lost narrowly to Anderson at Anderson...Shelby by four, and North by 2 after leading by 10 with three minutes to play...

Grant County, Simon Kenton, and South Oldham will have a major say in how this tournament plays out. SK and SO are two of the better perimeter shooting teams and could beat just about anyone. Grant's starting five can compete with just about anyone in the region.

Owen County has gone from being a pre-season dark horse to being considered more of a spoiler, but the Rebels have plenty of talent, including size and speed, in the starting lineup. They will be a force to be reckoned with if they bring their "A" game.

Henry County enters the tournament as the longest shot - but remember, each team is just three good games away from Rupp, and the Wildcats will be playing on their home court.

This will be a VERY interesting region tournament to watch!!

I'd say the winner of the 30th will potentially have a huge advantage in the region.

Anderson's the favorite...but Shelby County is the hottest team in the region since 2/1/09, going 7-0, including nice wins over Madison Central and St. X...

This will be a fun tournament!!! Very balanced IMO.

Just looking at the schedules and results, Grant has already beaten 5 of the 7 teams in the tournament. They did lose to Simon and Owen as well and they lost to Anderson the one time they played. SHould be a great tournament to watch.
