Not all kids are fortunate enough to have 2 parents. That can make the process daunting to some. Not all adults are equipped to deal with the process.

 

I agree 100%. It's a burdensome task for two parents to read through the letters and to try to decipher the message being delivered by the recruiters. I am just of the opinion that the school is there to help all students and parent(s) if and when help is needed.

If you are a player that is good enough, either your high school coach will help you or as Silver Streaker stated, the local DIII schools or the NAIA schools make their rounds and maybe then something will happen.

Have YOU ever been through the recruiting process? Sounds like you have been personally jilted... and have this belief that coaches don't bother to further the education of their student athletes. I will stand by the coaches at any school vs your attacks. Through the years I have been fortunate to maintain friendships with many coaches in the N Ky area. The very first thing they bring up is how proud they are of this athlete and that athlete getting offers from the various collegiate institutions. Once again I will simply pose the question to you, Why wouldn't a high school coach promote his athletes to the recruiters calling and visiting the schools?" If they are collegiate material the coach will do all he can to get them to the next level. If they do not have the skills and grades... they should have a heart to heart talk.

 

BTW, Georgetown, Centre, Union, University of the Cumberlands, Thomas More, University of Dayton and many other non - DI schools make the circut in northern Kentucky...they make the rounds to all the high schools. Perhaps not to Johnny's door step... but to the door step of the AD and Guidance Counselor.
