He had a phenominal game. I will miss watching this young man's intensity and pure heart. He will be sorely missed next year, for sure! He is the team leader and a good one IMO at that. His senior night was fitting as he had 28 points in the game and I believe 12 rebounds.::clap:
oldrambler Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 Congrats to the Tomcats on the win. :dancingpa Also a congrats to R. Bonner, the lone senior for Ashland. I understand that he will be attending EKU to play football, good luck to him.:thumb:
HOOKSHOT Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 Good win for Ashland. Russell played them hard but their shots didn't fall when they needed them. Russell cut the score to 8 in the third but Ashland cleaned the boards and hit some big threes to put it out of reach. Big game for Bonner on senior night. Nice job by the Devils JV finishing up their season with a win. Looking foward to next season for them.:thumb:

I prefer to see humble players and don't appreciate the cocky play by one of the Devil guards. Uncalled for. Some will agree with me and others will disagree. :irked:
LRCW Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 Congratulations to Ashland. A big shout out to the young man from Ashland who sang the National Anthem before the game. He did an outstanding job. :thumb:

I saw nothing cocky from any of the Russell players.

BUT, I know Kidwell won't tolerate the kind of play you claim. SO, if it happened , it would be dealt with..:thumb:
coalyard Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 I would like to send out congratulations to the senior manager Tyler Hammond. This kid deserved the recognition he received last night. They work hard all year, out late just like the players etc.,so thanks Tyler for a job well done.
TruBlu Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 I certainly disagree with you. I saw nothing cocky from any of the Russell players. I may be old fashioned, but I don't like to see highschool players celebrating their own shots, etc. I can barely tolerate celebratory cocky attitudes in the NBA, much less highschool. Just my opinion.

Just my opinion. Did the shot go in ? As a player , if I didn't get excited about a made shot, a steal, or a rebound , then I would not play. Do you not know how it feels to be successful as a team player, to help your team further its goal ? It looks as though you may have mistaken excitement for cockiness.:idunno: Just my opinion.:thumb:

TruBlu Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 And, yes, I've been there and done that .....and CHOSE to be humble because I knew that the next time down the floor it could be in MY face.....Kids need to learn humility and parents today don't teach that. Just my opinion.

Think about the time it takes to pat yourself on the back could be the split second that the other team steals the ball and converts. No personal cheerleading needed in highschool sports, especially from a team with a losing record.
