By the way, I forgot to mention a very classy thing by Coach Brown and Coach Kelly.

 

The Linton kid, a senior, sat out all season with a medical condition. Tonight was senior night, and he got to start.

 

The coaches had agreed in advance to let him have the ball on the opening tip and score a basket. Then they let Henry Clay score an uncontested basket in return. Lafayette immediately called a timeout and took Linton out.

 

That was one of the finest examples of class and sportsmanship by two high school coaches that I have seen lately. Really nice, considering the bad stories we hear about so much.

That's a great story. Both sides scored, so no advantage was gained. And a young man got to go home with a great memory. Nice job Henry Clay and Lafayette!:thumb:

Very classy by the coaches. Nice to see a feel good story for a change.

 

The Linton kid was a really good ballplayer, and seemed like a super person on/off the court. I was saddened at the beginning of the season to hear he would be out. But your health is more important than sports.

I don't know Coach Kelly, but this doesn't surprise me from Coach Brown. Very classy move by both coaches. They obviously understand that it is all about the kids and this was the right thing to do.
