You would have trouble voting for someone that believes Christ is the Son of God and our Lord and Savior????

I'm no Bible expert but didn't Jesus say render onto Ceaser the things that are Ceaser's? I think one of the biggest things that makes this country great is the seperation of church and state. I personally vote for the best candiate with the best ideas no matter of party, religion, race, sex, etc.

Render onto Caesar the things that are Caesar's doesn't mean you should ignore your morals in political processes (or that if it is legal then it can't be sinful) but that is another thread in itself. But I agree on what you said.

I have no objection to voting for a person who claims not to be a Christian. There was a time when I was not a Christian, but would have acted honestly and truthfully in office.

 

From the standpoint of my faith, my citizenship is in Heaven (Philippians 3:20). My earthly citizenship requires me to deal with those not of my faith. As long as I am fulfilling the command to me to spread the News to men of all nations, I am believe that I can respect the laws (Romans 5) made by men who are not necessarily of God.

So it is abhorant for a Democrat to always vote Democrat since they have no tolerance for Republican views?

Or vice versa?

Where we agree and you guys are offended is what I use to determine the best candidate in my judgement. I guess I am wrong in that regard as most of the posts on here are indicating.

 

I am not allowed to make my own personal judgement on whom I think is the best candidate.

Doesn't God love the non-Christian as much as the Christian? If so, why shouldn't we? How far should our "non-support" go?

 

I would love them and come to their aid if they needed me.

Just loving them does not mean I have to vote for them, does it?

 

And if I am to love both, well, I guess I can't vote for either, since that would be loving one more than the other?

Even if it meant one less vote for the "pro-life" candidate?

 

Perhaps I'm naive. I don't think that God cares whether I vote for a Catholic, a Protestant, a Jew, or someone who worships a bundle of sticks.

 

Just curious, how did God feel about his people worshipping a golden calf?
