Mr. Athletics Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 Looks as if WV hung pretty tough. Good job. How did Dixon and Tolliver do?Any additional stats?
madman Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 Did Coach Stowers give his subs alot of playing time?
paNDA Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 Did Coach Stowers give his subs alot of playing time? Not a pretty game to watch. Lots of meaningless fouls and missed shots from Simon Kenton. Didn't look like the same team that beat NCC a few weeks ago. SK will win the 8th but need that passion back if they are going to compete in Bowling Green. Everyone did play in this game but until the fourth it was somewhat close. Sidenote: The JV game was awesome! Both teams scratched and clawed for points and dove for loose balls, score went back and forth. WV won by a point but that really didn't matter as the crowd got a really good show. As someone said to me after the JV game we already got our 4 bucks worth.
8675309 Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 Congrats to SK on a district win. This means we will be the number 1 seed in the district, but we will have to play a lot better than we have the last few games to go deep in the regional tournament. Congrats to Ali and Sydney for picking up some of the offensive production while Tolliver was in foul trouble. As for WV, congrats to the 8th grader Sandlin, for putting up 17 points against a quality team. A few times that I have seen WV, they play hard, but lack offensive production. I think they have only a few girls that are able to score. Although this team is young and I feel that they will only get better over the next couple years.

They have some very good players who can score, but they can't score when they are on the bench.
Swiper Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 You are absolutely correct. They have some very good players who can score, but they can't score when they are on the bench. Why do you think they are on the bench? Can they play defense? Do they work hard in practice?
8675309 Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 Why do you think they are on the bench? Can they play defense? Do they work hard in practice? Here is a question for you, Is it easier to teach a kid that can dribble and shoot to play defense or a kid that can play defense how to shoot and dribble? Which one requires more skill? The few times I seen WV play this year, turnovers, ball handeling and being able to score has been a problem. At SK, we play very good defense but also have kids that can score.
Tiger1 Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 Why do you think they are on the bench? Can they play defense? Do they work hard in practice? I have no idea why some of the players are on the bench because they can play defense and do work hard at practice, and no doubt are better scorers than what they have out on the floor sometimes.

liveblue4ever Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 Looks as if WV hung pretty tough. Good job. How did Dixon and Tolliver do?Any additional stats? I believe Tolliver had 10 points, Wainscott 12, Ponzer 12 and Brown 12 points for the Pioneers.
