Neither team looked good. Boone did not look as bad as CCH. Boone should have won by 20+ points. It was an 8 point game with a few minutes left. Several of Boone's points in the first half were from unforced CCH turnovers in the half court translated to run-outs. Boone plays too many players off the bench and substitutes too often instead of playing their best players the majority of the time. They regularly play 9 to 10 players in their games. They don't have that type of depth. Pulling a player out of the game for taking/missing an three-point shot or having a turnover hurts a player's confidence, consistency, flow. They miight be able to get away with this against teams like CCH, but this merry-go round substitution will come back to haunt them against good teams. Find your top 7 and let them play. Boone has always substituted too often IMO. CCH creeped to within 8 by hitting a couple of big 3s in the 4th.

Boone subbing too often and for things such as a turnover/missed shot/missed assignment, etc. has happened since Coach McQ has come in and is something I never understood either. It is very hard to get into a rythm that way.

Why was Ryan Popp not starting? Injury? Discipline? Change?

He couldn't have played 5 minutes tonight. Very surprised to see him not playing more.

On another note, what is going on with the JV team? Heard it was their fourth straight loss. Almost had the comeback tonight. Nice to see Wilson with them, he played well. Also like what I see from Reidinger. Good to see Cubby back in uniform, had a rough game from what I saw, but hopefully he'll get back to normal.

Thelen and Machinot both moved up to Varsity, so they lost their top 2 players. Seems like they are having a difficult time adjusting. Personally, I think it will be for the better for them- it reminds me my class. We lost our 2 best classmates to Varsity as sophomores and it forced us all to step it up. In the long-run, I look for this class to do big things.

Beside those two, Cubby was out the first three losses with a sprained ankle suffered during the Cooper game. So, that is three of the better players. He was back last nightand struggled a little, but they will be alright I think.
