Most teams have a coach on the bench whose job it is to make sure that none of the players on the bench causes anything to get a technical foul. While it doesn't happen that often, there has been some officials to call a "T" on the bench for excessive celebration and the Gophers did not want this to happen in such a criticial time. It isn't because they don't want the kids to celebrate...they just don't want an untimely technical on the bench or have the official stop the game because of a warning.

I've seen this more and more in high school and middle school lately. A team jumps off the bench to celebrate a shot and officials warn the bench. I understand if they were going on to the floor or trying to create a confrontation - but to celebrate?????

Huge win for Tubby and the Minnesota program.

I am thrliled to see him doing so well. Tubby Smith has that program way ahead of schedule on the rebuilding process. With the season they are having and the coaching job of Tubby imo he is making a case for national C.O.Y.. I realize that he probably will not win it bc Minnesota more than likely will not go deep (final four) in the NCAA . Then again should the Gophers keep playing like they are now one never knows.

I know that if I am a coach of a high ranked team, I sure wouldn't want to see them in my NCAA bracket . One thing for sure is that Minnesota will not be outcoached.

I was checking scores and saw the Gophers down 10 with less than 4:00 minutes remaining. I was thinking that Tubby was going to get a tough road loss. Then, I saw this thread. Unbelievable.

I did the same thing. Great come from behind confeence road win for the Gophers.

They were lucky, right?

Just like UK was lucky Jodie had the game of his life against UT.

Noteworthy:

Minnesota scored just 22 points in the first half, but put up 20 points in the final 3:27 of regulation. For the game, the Gophers shot 48.3 percent from the field and limited the Badgers to 38.3 percent shooting.

The Gophers rallied back for the victory, despite losing two starters during the final stages of the game. Al Nolen fouled out with 3:23 left in the second half, while Johnson exited with 14 seconds left in overtime.

Minnesota forced 17 Wisconsin turnovers but the Gophers registered 18 of their own.

The Gophers didn't shoot a free throw in the first half but finished the game 15-of-18 from the line.

I watched this game, became a big Wisconsin fan several years back.

I like to watch Wisconsin play as well, I love their style of play.

I stick with my Wildcats and now Minnesota as my two favs though. I will now pull for Minnesota in any game they play unless we (U.K.) should meet them.

If you don't have the Big 10 Network, I'd try to find out how you can get it.

Absolutley great game to watch. Comming back from 12 down with about three to play was incredible.
