Is the record different come tourney time between east and west? Just curious, I once read a statement from an EC coach something like "I wouldn't trade one game for the overall record" Then he watched WC play in the regional tourney.

Not really I don't know about the other 3 schools West, Elliott, Lewis, and Morgan the last 2. But there have been 37 districts with the above mentioned schools. East has 14 District Championships and 9 runner-ups. So East has advanced to the regional 23 out of the last 37 years. Out of West 33 wins in 109 games all time probably 8 to 10 have come in District play.

Judging by the overall record and knowing that the games are "usually" close, I will take East in this one. Due to West's inability to finish out games in the past, as stated by CatsCatsCats.

East-61

West-54

Well Titleist, I really feel that the cause for the record is that East is a more consistent program. Some years, like last year they win every meeting, East was just better. West had a pretty good team and played hard but at the end it just wasn't enough. It is a rare year when West is superior enough to top East everytime they play, which more often then not is 3 times. It seems that the years that West is up in overall talent, East is pretty decent as well. Since I can remember East hasn't had too many terrible teams, while sometimes West isn't very good. I think alot of East's domination in the numbers would have been the early years, and the lean years for West. I do feel East has the better program for basketball, but most years the games are good and recently almost every game has been close. Know what your talking about man.

For example

2002-2003

WC lost all 4 games to East. 59-55, 61-46, 72-70 OT, 56-53. 1 blowout loss.

2003-2004

West won the first game 58-55 and lost the 2nd 60-50. 1 win, 1 good game if i remember correctly.

2004-2005

West won 60-57 OT, East won 57-43 and 46-45 in the district tournament. 1 semi-blowout loss.

2005-2006

West won 54-30 and lost 48-38. 1 blowout win and one loss by 10.

2006-2007

West lost 53-45 and won the 2nd game 56-51. Two pretty good games it would seem.

2007-2008

East won all three meetings by the scores of 63-43, 55-41, and 55-45 in a game that was closer than it appeared.

So since 2003, East has won 12 of the games, while 4 were blowouts or not good games. West has won 4 of the games with one blowout win. In sixteen games 5 were not entertaining down to the wire finishes. 2 were last season, and in the 3rd game at districts fans were treated to their moneys worth until foul shots at the end put the game out of reach. Only one of the so called blowouts were by more that 15 so who knows how close they were or were not. I don't know maybe you could help me out. So for true beat downs in the last 6 seasons East largest win was 20, West was 24. Thats two games!!! IN 6 years. East may win the most of them, but to say that they aren't close or are total dominations is either to say that you don't watch many East/West games or you haven't taken off your blue and red sunglasses lately.

But, in truth the only real stat that matters is wins and losses, and whether the game is close or a blowout smart money has went with East for the duration of this series. But, I would be shocked if either team gets absolutely blowout.
