When the other team insist on you shooting layups you have no choice but to score. Game after game no adjustments are made. If a team can handle the pressure (which isn't very good) then they will shoot layup after layup and Boyd will continue to try and fit a square peg in a round hole.

 

Subsitution decisions are also puzzeling.

Tough loss for Boyd.

I really dont understand the inconsistent play from Boyd.

Anyone give us any updates on what is going on at Boyd?

From what I hear from some of my friends still in the County, is that there are some interesting happenings going on in the County.

The play has not been inconsistent. Raceland, Powell Co., and South Floyd are not good. Boyd has on game plan if the opponent is vulnerable to it then Boyd has a chance.

BC could not stop CG's point guard all-night, he penetrated at will. The score could've been a lot worse, as CG substituted liberally from about mid-way through the 4th quarter. Good Luck to CG in the championship game of The Heart of Champions Tournament tomorrow night against Menifee County.

I realize that Boyd basically was on a winning streak because their last 3 opponents were something like 7-19 record.

 

After a few phone calls, I have been told they make no adjustments and their picking of players and substitutions have made no sense at all.

 

I hate to see Boyd's program still stay in the dumps, with no vision of changing. Pretty sad.

I really do not understand what is going on at Boyd County. I thought that in order to give your team a chance to win you were supposed to play your best players for the entire game. The substitution methods last night made no sense to me at all. The Boyd County coach was pulling his Juniors and Seniors and playing Freshman that IMO did not play well at all. It is sad that the Boyd County coaching staff can not do better with the talent that they have this year.

Get used to it.

 

At least some of the Juniors and Seniors got invited. There were a few of the Sophomores and Juniors left at home for the Freshmen and 8th graders to play. You figure it out.

Well it seems that everybody is an expert at coaching Boyd CO. Basketball. Last time I checked Coach Wooten made the call of who plays and who does'nt. If you all were watching the same game I was watching you would see no team basketball being played by the Sr's, Jr's or Sophmore's , Freshman or 8th graders. At least with the younger players he can build what he wants, and the last time I checked Boyd Co. was getting beat by 20-30 every game. If I was a coach and was getting beat by that much with my more "experienced players", I would just as soon get beat with my young players and try to teach them a little bit.......mostly of what not to do, and playing with a little bit of pride and heart.

Plus, with the younger kids in there, he always has a excuse of inexperience. Dont dare try to teach the older kids any fundamentals and make them better. These same older kids probably had a youth coach just push them to the side when they were younger as well.

You seem to have a past knowledge of Boyd County basketball. I wanna ask you a question. Can you give me a example or remember a time where Boyd had a 8th Grader or Freshman playing Varsity minutes? Not saying it is wrong, just cant ever remember it happening? What about dressing Juniors that only play JV and no varsity time? Seems Boyd has definetly changed.
