Conner 77 Covington Catholic 61

Hats off to Conner. They beat a a very mature team in CCH. Conner will continue to improve through the season and into the next couple of years. They only have two seniors and alot of sophmores contributing in great amounts.

This is really good for Conner- to be playing so well and be so young. Are the seniors impact players?

Thank Goodness for baseball is all I'm sayin!

Maile is the only starter from last year playing right now. I don't think anyone else really even saw time last year.

Yea, I was going to say, this is anything BUT a mature team. Maile obviously was a starter. Isler saw some time I believe too. Ives maybe as well. Beyond that I don't think there are many that have any varsity experience, so this is def. a new experience.

All correct. All I can say in my own defense is "give them time.":rolleyes::rolleyes:

By mature I meant upper classmen with at least several years of JV experience. Conner started 2 seniors, 2 juniors, & 1 sophmore (who did not even play JV last year). They rotated 2 sophmores and 1 junior (all three were JV guys last year). CCH was by far the more mature team.

haha, it's okay, you're just supporting your team. You know I'm right there with you.

Covcath could potentially start the season 0-4 with Ryle and Highlands up next.

I think this will end up being Listerman's worst year ever at CCH and they will likely finish with double figure losses.

Really, to be honest, although all but one of the starters for CCH were seniors, they were all JV players last year besides Maile. And then anything else left on the bench besides Isler and Ives[who played JV and varsity] played strictly JV or freshman. This is not a mature team, upperclassmen or not. Luckily for then they have Isler and Maile who have some experience with leadership [isler was QB and Maile and Isler both have played varsity baseball since freshman year] so hopefully they can develop some maturity QUICK.

Maile and Isler are the key for CCH right now with Shover out and hopefully Coach L realizes this quick because a certain player may not be seeing much time after some of the antics he pulled tonight....

Even though Shover didn't play tonight- he has played quality Varsity time since his Sophomore year correct?

Wow I can't even remember that far ago, that is bad haha! I think he did play quality time his sophmore year, but his junior year he started and this year he would have started as well and he will when he returns.

Why is Shover out? Injuries I assume?

Quality? Ehh I guess it's on the fence of being considered quality but yes he did play SOME time his sophomore year. Maybe at the most 8 minutes a game.

Nagging illness. Not too sure of the details, but the poor guy just can't get back to full strength.
