James Harrison as a Bengal

Featured Replies

Of course not. If you trade for everybody then you'd have a lot of salary cap issues.

And if you don't even want one player, what's the point in getting 10 others?

Not to mention when the Bengals opponents have the ball, they'd be playing 11 on 1....

You do know it was a joke, right?

Yup, I understand it was a poor attempt at humor.

I'm so sorry my "poor attempt at humor" did not meet your standards.

I'm glad I'm going to have a college degree to fall back on, since it is quite obvious my comedy career is now over.

Hey, don't let me ruin your dreams.

But I agree about the college degree. :thumb:

It's too late. I'm giving up on comedy...:p

Carson Palmer, TJ, Joseph, Hall, Rivers, Geathers.

Harrison is better than most of the guys I listed, but one player isn't going to make that big of a difference and I think Hall & Joseph are better than what we'd be putting out there if we did trade for Harrison...

Just so I can make sure I'm following:

Rooney calls you and says "James Harrison for Geathers" and you say "I'll pass?"

What about Joseph or Hall...I think it's weird that he considered those two as well.

The others I can understand...but I'm not sure I'd put them on my list.

The only one I would even hesitate on is CP.

Maybe Housh...but he could be gone after this season anyways, right?

Yup.

Not sure what I'd do. Geathers is young and he played LB last year. He's clearly not a LB, but that speaks volumes about his athletic ability. He's young, and Harrison is 30. It'd be a close call and I could go either way.

I am not sure their are any Bengal players that Pittsburgh would want.

There's no doubt that Harrison is a superior player to both Hall & Joseph. But when you make a trade, you've got to find somebody to take the position of the guy who you traded.

Who would you fill in at CB if Hall or Joseph was traded? David Jones is horrible. Castille is even worse.

Hall & Joseph are both young & 1st round draft picks. Granted that will probably work against the Bengals since they botch just about every pick they get, but I don't think either young CB has played too poorly this season. They both have the potential to be solid CB's for a long time in the league.

Maybe Housh...but he could be gone after this season anyways, right?

I wouldn't want to trade Housh to the Steelers. That'd give them Hines Ward, TJ & Santonio Holmes. How would the Bengals (or anybody for that matter) stop that?

I'm not a big fan of TJ because he complains about everything. But the guy is an elite WR in the NFL. Chad Johnson isn't going to produce much in Cincy, and Chris Henry may or may not be here. You trade TJ and you're stuck with 2 rookies who have less than 5 catches combined and Glenn Holt who is a career NFL Special teamer.
