I think last nights Rock team may have been a little different version of the team they had early on in the year. South Laurel beat them 12-6 and Pulaski hammered South Laurel 56-0. I don't believe South would have beaten the team Pulaski played last night.

 

Some freshmen for Rockcastle do play varsity football and thus see very limited time on the JV schedule with limited play if they are allowed to attend. A very good freshman running back (who did play in the varsity game against the Maroons and ran up over 70 yards in the varsity game) was not allowed to play. A freshman lineman was allowed limited action in the game as he had already practiced with the varsity that day for more than two hours. These two see no action when Rock plays freshman games. (or haven't to date) The entire JV team had practiced for about an hour and half before the game. This JV team is getting stronger as the season rolls on and they have no time to practice together during regular team practices. The coaches for this team usually puts them together just before the game and have done a very good job of getting most out of them.

The quarterback for the Maroons (#18) was very impressive and can be commended for playing very well during this game.

 

Sounds like the team Somerset beat 32-0 was the same team that Pulaski beat 13-0.

So if Pulaski beats Rockcastle it is because they played smash-mouth football and was the dominant team on the field in a 13-0 win. But if Somerst beat the Rockets 32-0 it was because A) The Jumpers played a watered down version of the team the Maroons played then when it became apparant it was the same team B) The Jumpers only won because they played at home which I guess is an insinuation that only the officials allowed the Jumpers to win? :rolleyes:

 

So I guess Somerset going to Corbin and beating the same Redhound team that manhandled the Maroons was due to the same reasons? And before you use the injury excuse Somerset played that game without 3 starters that start both ways and leading receiver Storm Wilson was only allowed to play about half the game due to injury. I said it was a good win for the Maroons, it's a shame that you can't do the same when Somerset has an impressive win.
