September 10, 200818 yr Doesn't matter how many students can pass a CATS test, they're still not passing college aptitude tests. When the valedictorian at a high school is making A's in pre-cal and can't pass college algebra, that tells me something's up. My kids have made better grades in college than in high school(although they made good grades in high school).............this tells me they were well prepared by their high school for college. They graduated from a small independent school(Corbin) whose students tend to do very well in college.

And maybe your kids are an exception that comes from good genes and an even better upbringing.

You can get a good education at all schools. Some schools may challenge their kids more than others and help prepare a higher percentage for college success, but the student and parents are also a part of the equation.
September 11, 200818 yr ^Look up the statistics. Some kids are of course an exception, but the for the most part, our kids just aren't prepared for college or the workplace.
