The KHSAA always assigns the score as 1-0.

Hindsight is 20/20. Apparently the Bell thing is a thing of the past and until someone gets a new coach, it wont be played. I would like to see Rock, Whitley, or preferably Harlan County added in place of Bethlehem, SL, or NL.

I think it's going to be KnoxCentral.

Any idea why they have fallen so far, so fast? They were 11-2 only two seasons ago and lost in the regional final to Danville.

Bethlehem had 45 on the roster last year, and was able to weather a tough opening slate against larger schools much easier (Central Hardin, Garrard, Corbin).

 

This year there was only 26, and because of bad luck with injuries in scrimmages and the first two regular season games, they would've dressed 17 against the Redhounds (with their two top offensive weapons being among those out). Two others could possibly have dressed, but would have been playing hurt.

 

You hate to see a game get canceled/forfeited, but being at full strength for district play is what's most important for the Eagles, and I can understand that. Bethlehem has KCD next week, then a bye week before its second district game, at Caverna. Had they went ahead and played Corbin, it's not hard to envision even more players getting hurt.

At least it was one of their own home games they canceled instead of a return trip away game. They have to do what is best for their kids and program, and in this case they probably made the right call.
