September 6, 200818 yr I will be going to the game cant miss possibly the last meeting of the rivalry. And ill take EKU 27-21
September 6, 200818 yr I can win either way in this. I hope Western does well with the Boyle County connection. (Hope they get to play.) Being an EKU alum, I hope Eastern wins this last one in the series. From the late 60's to the late 80's, this was a premiere rivalry in and for this state. Here was a great article in the Lex Herald about the series. It's worth it for the old picture of Roy at the top. http://www.kentucky.com/287/story/513615.html
September 6, 200818 yr I believe that since Western is in the Sun Belt, the Sun Belt has a rule precluding their teams from playing away games at lower division teams. EKU has made it clear they will not just up and travel to WKU every year, that they expect to be paid to do so as with other D1 contracts. You think they could make some kind of exception to allow this game to continue to go on. I didn't attend either school but have been to this game several times at both locations and it is a great rivalry that should continue on. Prediction: WKU a lot, EKU a little.
