She filed her own ETHICS review so she could have the investigation changed to the personnel board, which she heads up. You know more abot the law then that Hearsey......guess we just have to disagree. We'll see what the special investigator turns up.

Incidentally, there is no question in my mind that the Alaskan legislative investigator will find in his report that Palin abused her office power, or oversaw an "appearance of impropriety." That will come out in October for the benefit of the voting electorate. However, if McCain/Palin ticket wins, Alaska will of course not do anything, thus confirming their status as political cowards.

The Personnel Board is under the jurisdiction of the Governor, the legislative is not, that's why she want's it moved. Like I said, we'll have to see what the special investigator finds.

Now it seems that John Coghill, GOP Chairman of the State House Rules Committee wrote a letter to the Legislative Council in Alaska asking that the investigation be dropped because it is being administrated by Sen Hollis French, a democrat who hired the special procecuter. Keep in mind the investigation by the Legislative Council began in July, 2008 and Palin was not selected for her VP position until September.

It was 3 years ago when she was a private citizen, it was not harassment it was disparaging remarks,Palin was not "ordered," both sides were subject to the remarks, and it was in the context of the child custody dispute. I advise anybody reading DD's posts to actually read the articles.

You're right, it was 3 years ago when the judge warned her to stop the disparaging remarks....however she re started her campaign to fire the trooper once she became the govenor and thought she had some clout.

 

Although she claims to be cooperating, she is now considering the executive priveledge defense.

Obama Partisan Tampers with Palin Subpoena List

 

A Friday hearing revealed that an Obama partisan has manipulated an independent investigator’s subpoena list of a controversial inquiry against GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin.

 

The investigation is intended to determine whether Palin abused her office by firing Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan. Palin says she fired him over budget issues. Her foes believe the firing was due to Monegan’s unwillingness to fire Palin’s former brother-in-law State Trooper Mike Wooten, a man who has admitted to “tasering” his stepson, illegally shooting a moose and has been accused of threatening his former father-in-law with violence and drinking in his police car.

 

Investigator Steven Branchflower admitted he had ceded control of his subpoena list to Sen. Hollis French (D.) during Alaska’s Joint Judiciary Committee September 12 hearing that was scheduled to approve subpoena requests. [Audio coming shortly.] French is a partisan who has endorsed Palin’s Democratic presidential ticket rival Barack Obama for president and is actively supporting his candidacy.

Hypotheticals, that deserve answering:

 

1. If a sitting Governor knows of a corrupt cop (this guy admitted tasering a 10-year old as part of a training exercise) that could potentially be a liability to the state and/or bad for the state's image, regardless of whether that cop is a former relative or not, does not that Governor have a duty to make inquiry, even forceful inquiry, into that cop's employment?

 

2. What if the story within the story here is that Wooten actually was a very corrupt, very bad police officer, and availed himself of the so-called Blue Wall of Secrecy to shield him from punishment? If inquiries, even forceful inquiries, were made, then Palin appears very much to be the corruption-fighter that she is billed to be. Maybe we should ask 'Ru and Scribe if they tasered a 10 year-old (among other things), whether they would get more than a 5-day suspension.
