August 31, 200818 yr Two very, very tough losses to the Phillies, especially after a great start to the 4 game series. Brewers start a 10 game homestand tomorrow with 3 against the Mets, 4 against the Padres and 3 against the Reds. Cubs start a 3 game series against the Astros at home tomorrow before a day off Thursday and embarking on a HUGE road trip starting Friday in Cincinnati. 3 against the Reds, 3 against the Cards, 3 against the Astros. Now the fun REALLY begins.
September 1, 200818 yr Author Mets get 1 in the 7th and 3 in the 8th to come back and beat the Brewers 4-2. Magic number for the Cubs is down to 21. :ylsuper: It's a good thing the Mets came through, because Oswalt is dealing and the Cubs trail the Astros 2-0 in the 4th.
September 1, 200818 yr Author Did you see how far Tejada's triple bounced off the wall? Nopers, I have a hard time actually watching the Cubs on TV, I have to usually follow them through GameTracker online. That's how seriously I take these games.
September 1, 200818 yr Author Cubs drop their third in a row at home. As frustrating and sickening as this loss is, all you can do is tip your hat to Oswalt for pitching 8 plus innings of darn near perfect baseball. Thank goodness the Brewers lost. You would think the Cubs offense is going to break out any day now, I hope it happens soon.
September 1, 200818 yr The astros are white hot right now. I'm glad they got off to such an awful start.
September 3, 200818 yr I'm thinking that Lou is trying to prove a point to Howry tonight. Like maybe, "you suck, Bob--this is your last chance to serve up meatballs." Scribe, you'll appreciate this. My son went walking through the kitchen just a few minutes ago and said "is that the Arsonist on the mound?":lol:
September 3, 200818 yr He must of heard me yelling at Pinella for putting him in. Howry must have pictures of Pinella and Jim Hendry's wife
