Another Pope thread....

1. Aren't all those guys OT. Things changed when Jesus came.

2. Paul's words were aimed at what the Church should be.

I think the problem that Protestants seem to have is that it appears that the Pope is worshipped. There appears to be a lot of resources that are wasted in the Catholic Church through extravagent wardrobes and buildings all for the sake of making the Pope to seem different than the preacher at 1st Christian Church on the corner that drives a 1993 Firebird.

Is the Pope(for Catholics) any different than, say, Billy Graham and his ilk for Protestants? Some of the well-known ministers and televangelists in the Protestant faiths are alot different than local preachers.

I would need to be convinced that Billy Graham is different than my local preacher. My quick first answer is no, the 3 would be similar in nature.

I don't view James Dobson, Pat Robertson, etc, etc, etc, with in different regard than I view my local preacher.

I respect what they have accomplished for the Lord but I do not believe that they hold some special power/right over what my local minister or for that matter what you and I have as Christians.

I respect that answer for you; but I feel that for many others, it is quite different.

Ultimately, isn't that what it's all about?:thumb:
