Seen there was a thread about the boys and thought I would start one for the girls. So how are the teams looking after the first week?

I believe Boyd County has a pretty good 7th grade team. Does anyone know how Russell is doing or how many players they have? I figured with the new varsity coach he would be getting a lot of new girls to come out.

Does Rowan Co. still have the best middle school program? I know that they have been probably the best team for the last 3 or 4 years.

I have not seen them play but they usually always have a good team.

Who is the team to beat in girls middle school?

Knox Central...I heard they beat the KC high school girls in a scrimmage basically the whole team stayed back in the 8th grade and the coaches won't let them play up..

Seen East Carter play and they looked pretty good, they have some nice size girls.

How did Rowan Co. do against Verity last night?

Verity won both games. Seen verity play the other day and both teams look pretty good. 8th grade team looks very good they have a lot of nice players. Have they played East Carter yet?

They played in the Tip-Off Classic .Verity won both games the 7th grade won 45-26 and the 8th grade won 40-17. They play Tuesday night in Grayson.

What teams were in the tip-off classic?

Verity, East Carter, Fairview and Morgan Co.

Mason County 7th and 8th grade is a very talented group. Over the past two years the seventh grade has gone 74-10, and the 8th 79-11. Most of the girls this year will be brought up to the JV and Varsity levels to fill out the depleted roster. Seventh grade is off to a 4-0 start beating McNabb (Montgomery), Lex Catholic, Paris, and Fleming Co. 8th grade is 1-0 defeating Fleming Co.

Is it normal for smaller schools to play there younger kids up to fill the roster? What is the normal standar? Do 5th graders play 7th and 6th play 8th? or 2nd play 5th? Is this normal?? I come from a large school and this was never an issue.
