Hopkinsville pretty much dominated the scrimmage, 4-1 before the JVs took the field. Tilghman scored on an intercepted screen pass. Hoptown had a few long scoring drives. Tilghman's offense looked out of synch. Both teams offense started slowly, but Hoptown was able to run the ball effectively after the first few series. I don't think Tilghman got a first down in the second half. Hoptown's defense looked pretty good, and there were some licks passed. In the end it was a pretty good showing, and a surprising one, for Hoptown.

Thumbs up for the Tigers offensive line. Thought they looked good and will only get better. Paducah will be a load this year for anybody and will have a legit shot at winning a state title this year. They are fast and fly to the ball. Once they get everything in with the new coaching staff I look for them to get better as the season goes on.

Actually, I think the score was 18-8 in the varsity portion of the scrimmage ...

I guess Hoptown is back on track this season, I think if these two played during the regular season, it would be something to see.

Funny how some of the old rivalry games have fallen by the way side. Hoptown and Mayfield used to be a great game, along with Clarksville, Bowling Green, Paducah... Now none of those teams are on the schedule.

I know that Mayfield wanted to continue the series with Hoptown, but with the new district scheduling schedule that they could not find a common date to play. Would be nice to see these Mayfield and Hoptown back on the schedule.
