Women should remain silent

Featured Replies

I think what Larry is saying, is that what Paul is saying is correct, when applied to that specific church at that specific time.

I guess I was wrong...

Fan, what does the Bible say? There are written words in the Bible where woman had main roles that men wasn't used and they weren't "silent".

A woman shouldn't be a Pastor, Elder, Deacon or teach men as a leader. Scripture not me.

She can give testimony, pray, sing solo (my wife), Hollar out AMEN, ask for prayers, and say "I do".

Larry I think your taking the scripture out of context...

I guess if you think the Bible is 100% accurate than yeah you can justify it, but I feel it's fairly obvious that that isn't the case.

Gooch/Fan you are entitled. You asked, the scriptures answered. Can't pick & Choose. I said that. Thanks for asking.

First IM4THEHOUNDS, then you...I must be going soft..

But really, What is the NT; LETTERS! Letter written to different Church's and people. Letters that dealt with different problems within the church's. There isn't a one size fits all plan for a church.

Yes and no.

Yes, Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior and a personal relationship with Him is the way to eternal salvation is a one size fits all plan for all churches.

No, different churches will use different methods to minister to different people.

2nd Timothy 3:16 " ALL scripture is God breathed".

The writer of these "letters" to these churches is named Paul who was transformed with a face to face meeting with Jesus so Paul could "write" instuctions for these churches and for us to use today as guidelines...

Could someone show me something that Paul wrote that wouldn't/couldn't hold true in churches today?

Hey, I'm retired and I got the rest of my lifetime to share Jesus.

Why not?

I have yet to have a real problem with it.

I don't think there is a problem with Women preaching...

If God has a problem with this, then I have a problem with God.

Why not?

I have yet to have a real problem with it.

I hate snakes.

I will pick them up at the end of my hoe.

I will pick them up at the end of my hoe.

But the Bible says to take up serpents.

If God has a problem with this, then I have a problem with God.

So, the God who is the Creator of all life should check in with the Gooch when he is setting up the rules? Is that it?

One of man's many problems is our arrogance that we think God should bow to us in how things ought to be ran and how things should go in our lives.

Please provide the Scriptures so that I can study what they said.

I know of no Scripture where Jesus or the 12 indicated that was appropriate.

I will say that in many things, I think you are close on this post.
