Lincoln County Coaching Staff adds Yeast

Featured Replies

Name me the great kentucky high school head coaches that were D1 stars or N.F.L. players.

Make sure you post the records alongside the name.

Dudley Hilton?

Chuck Smith?

Bob Beaty?

Sam Harp?

Mike Yeagle?

Mike Holcomb?

Bob Redman?

Tom Larkey?

Bob Schnieder?

Dale Mueller?

Did any of these guys ever play one NFL or CFL game?

Playing success does not mean coaching success.

Agreed, playing success doesnt mean coaching success. However, after the camp that Yeast had at Mercer I saw one thing. He can teach the game. He shares his own experiences and talents and the kids really seem to respond. Look for Lincoln recievers to be very fundamental.

Maybe he won't make the same mistakes at Lincoln County that he made at Danville last year. I'd say there is a reason he couldn't get an assistant job at Mercer or Boyle. I hope it all works out for him, he has a lot to offer the game of football at the high school level.

Quite honestly, I was more impressed seeing J Smith added to the staff than Craig Yeast. I got to know J after college and he is a great guy who gave Lincoln County a lot of reasons to be proud.

I'll never forget his performance in the playoffs in 1991 (I believe) against Bardstown. Literally a one-man show to pull out an unbelievable game in the last minute. He and Michael Bush are to two greatest high schoolers I ever saw play.

Smith was a quarterback at LC, and a standout basketball player. College? don't know, maybe Cumberland??

Hearsay where did J Smith play highschool, and college ball.

I'm sorry, I was talking about Yeast at Harrodsburg.
