Pikeville also got some good teams for their scrimmages. They got Johnson Central, Bell Co., and Raceland on 8/15/08 at Johnson Central then the following week they are at home against Lawrence Co.

Here's something interesting for you Mayfield fans to think about. If Mayfield beats Crittenden county during their first matchup and Crittenden goes on to win out the rest of the season, then I believe that in the playoffs, if we are back to playing the different districts like I think we are (pretty confusing how we flip-flop), but if Mayfield went on to beat their 2nd district opponent and so did Crittenden, wouldn't we have a Mayfield-Crittenden matchup at Mayfield for the regional title?

Assuming that Mayfield beats Crittenden County during the regular season, the Rockets would probably have to win at Louisville Holy Cross in the second round of the playoffs to earn a rematch with Mayfield.

And Mayfield would have to win it's initial playoff game, too...This is nothing different than previous yrs as far as the likelihood of a district rematch...

The team that took the biggest step in upgrading their schedule appears to be Campbellsville....I was kinda shocked when I saw it.....

 

LCA (last years 1A runner-up)

 

Green Co. (graduated lots of players, but i think their recent success will carry over)

 

Danville (enough said)

 

Marion Co. (had a great year last year, dont know what they lost

 

Considering Campbellsville hasn't had a GREAT team in some time, I am surprised their coach beefed up the schedule to the degree he did......

 

Same schedule as last year. Play LCA in opener this year. Opened with Frankfort last year. The rest is exactly the same.
