Just wanted to share my experience of Bardstown this past week. I took the wife Old Talbort Tavern and spent the night in the Washington Irving Room (haunted) and had a blast at their bourbon bar till 2:00am. A live band from Nashville was rocking it out, JD Shelbourne I believe was his name. They had a great price on their Bourbon Sampler, $25 for 5 shots of premium bourbon. We got there too late around 5:00pm for any tours or shopping, but we got to eat at Kurtz, very good food, if you like country plates. Fresh pie also was very good. We drove around Bardstown for about 25 minutes checking out the park and the side streets. We noticed several shadows and noises in our room that appeared to be ghostly, but we had no camera so the proof cannot be brought back. We will be going back soon with family and friends to check out the Stephen Foster Musical, Railroad Museum and Bourbon Tours and stay at another BB, loved our trip.

Go on the dinner train the next time you are there...it is very nice.

I had plans to do the dinner train but it was sold out about 2 weeks in advance. We also went the scenic route, about 2 hours but we passed some good football stadium; Danville, Boyle County and Bardstown.

Good stuff! For a small town like Bardstown, there's enough to do to keep you occupied for a whole weekend. Shoot me a line before you come next time and I can maybe give you some ideas. :thumb:

I was real curious as to what other night life events went on downtown because we were at the Bourbon Bar at the Tavern from 9-1:30 and from the hours of 9-11 there wasn't much of a crowd, then all of a sudden college girls about 100 of them invaded the place with ink on their hands from other places, I was just curious and when they were leaving they were asking us if we wanted to go party some more but I thought the town closed up around 1am...Also is Sunday night a good party to, or is it just Saturday?

It has been several year's however, I enjoyed My Old Ky Home, Stephen Foster stroy under the star's, bourbon tour and also drove to Makers Mark and what a story there it is Awesome, have fun. JD
