The child's coverage is virtually free. I am curious as to why she has not/does not get child support from the father, or some of the social security money.

June 13, 200818 yr How much does she make at her job? Where is her grandmothers social security check going? I think she makes a little over $9 an hour. Grandma's SS goes to her daughter(my friend's mother) who supposedly uses it to buy the old woman food and medicine and such. I know my friend never sees a penny for the care she provides.
June 13, 200818 yr It's the Democrats wedge issues that allow them to pick up votes. They don't have any desire to solve it. Or at least that is what is said about Republicans and abortion, so I figure that the Dems probably view poverty the same way.

Many have advised her(even those who work in social services) to quit work, saying that she would receive more food stamp and housing aid. However, she says she doesn't want to be dependent on the system when she is capable of working.
