Scott High / Bourbon County Updates

After 3 1/2 innings:

 

Scott High - 5 runs, 3 hits and 3 errors

Bourbon County - 8 runs, 4 hits and 4 errors

 

This is ugly I don't care who you are!

Manning leads off the 4th with a double off of Adkins. Adkins is done and the new pitcher will be Murray. Sacrifice bunt puts runner on 3rd with one out. Murray gets a strike out for the 2nd out. Ones delivers a 2 out single to make it 9-5.

After 4 innings:

 

Scott High - 5 runs, 3 hits and 3 errors

Bourbon County - 9 runs, 6 hits and 4 errors

Scott leads off the 5th with an infield single. Jacoby is still on the mound for the Colonels. Fielders choice 3-6 so one on and one out. Fielders choice results in an error at 2nd. Scott tries a sacrifice bunt and pops out to the pitcher. Sowder singles to left and Scott has runners on 2nd and 3rd and the score is 9-6. Wild pitch and the Eagles baserunner gets tagged out trying to score with the #3 hitter at the plate.

Scott High - 6 runs, 5 hits and 3 errors

Bourbon County - 9 runs, 6 hits and 5 errors

Murray issues a one out walk, but Robertson is gunned down trying to steal.

After 5 innings:

 

Scott High - 6 runs, 5 hits and 3 errors

Bourbon County - 9 runs, 6 hits and 5 errors

Jacoby walks the lead-off batter. He comes back with a strike-out and the Eagle baserunner stole 2nd. Jacoby then picks him off second for the 2nd out. Jacoby then hits the next batter. Jacoby then issues the 10th walk by the Bourbon County pitchers. Scott has 2 on and 2 out. Coach Farris leaves Jacoby in too long. A single and double have tied it up at 9-9. Dutton is now on to pitch but it may be too late. Scott almost had another runner picked off second base. If the throw had been to the 3rd base side he is out. Dutton walks his first batter. Easy grounder to short is dropped by the shortstop for the 6th Bourbon County error. Hit batter and Scott takes a 10-9 lead. Diving catch by the shortstop to end the inning.

Bourbon County - 9 runs, 6 hits and 6 errors

 

Bourbon has made 6 errors, walked 11 and hit 2 and still trail by only 1 run. UNREAL!

Murray remains on the mound for the Eagles as Bourbon comes to bat in the 6th. Pop out to Murray for 1 out. Diving catch by the shortstop for the 2nd out. A 1-2-3 inning for Murray.

Scott High - 10 runs, 7 hits, 3 errors and 9 LOB

Bourbon County - 9 runs, 6 hits, 6 errors and 4 LOB

 

It looks as if the Eagles may survive!

Eagles lead off with guess what? Another ERROR! Scott gets a double so they now have runners on 2nd and 3rd with 0 outs. The centerfielder then drops a routine fly ball for ERROR #8 and both runners score to make it 12-9 in favor of Scott. How can you win 21 games and then make 8 errors in the Regional Tournament? The Eagle fans need to treat the Colonels players and Coaches to dinner or something for this gift they have been given.
