Adkins should have been out of the inning but left fielder Smith lost a 2 out pop up in the lights with 2 runners on and Bourbon now leads 5-3. Bourbon follows it up with another double and now leads 6-3. Adkins walks the next batter on 4 pitches. Adkins has now walked 4 and hit 1 in 1 2/3 innings.

Adkins gets the first two batters out. After a walk, then Jacoby reaches on an infield hit, then a dropped ball by the centerfielder allows 2 more runs to score. Adkins now has 5 walks and 1 hit batter thru 3 innings. So despite the errors, he is digging a hole for himself.

After 3 innings:

Scott High - 3 runs, 3 hits and 3 errors

Bourbon County - 8 runs, 4 hits and 2 errors

I may have to run up to the Hilltop and see how the Scott faithful are holding up. You got to love these guys, they come into the tournament year in and year out with high expectations. Then they wake up and realize they are in the 10th Region Tournament. If I do leave, maybe one of you guys can post the updates.

With one out and a runner on first the Bourbon County first baseman drops a pop up. Jacoby then balks and walks the bases loaded. As "Jumping" Jim Swinford said on the air, it looks more like a March game than the first game of the regional tournament. Scott sure hasn't hit Jacoby, but just like Adkins, walks and errors will kill you. Fielders choice goes 4-6 and then the shortstop throws the ball away. Adkins ends up on 2nd and then is thrown out trying to steal 3rd for the final out.
