Holy Cross 7 Beechwood 3 (JV Tourney)

Featured Replies

I have been to games this year and sat directly behind the plate. There will be a ball three inches off the plate and a fan who is sitting in the stands off to the third base side bashes the umpire. I think its pretty comical myself to listen to some of the fans and how they think they are the ones that is always right. Sure umps are going to miss calls, but I tell you what, some of these fans should apply to be a major league umpires, because they see it all.

That might be my favorite BG Preps quote of all time.

Sandman: Most schools in the 9th will only pay one umpire to work JV games. There is no shortage of umpires, there is a shortage of schools who'll pay two of them.

Thanks for the input. Seems as though, in this instance, a field ump could have taken care of the the swing and miss issue.

The "Swing and Miss" issue really didnt matter either. HC was up either 5-2 or 6-2. Also the pitcher walked him on the next three pitches if i remember correctly, that would have been the only strike.

Sounds like Beechwood should stop crying and play the game.
