Just my two cents in which I know isn't much, but its hard to overrate a band that had almost everything to do with taking African American blues and turning it into something acceptable for white bands to play. Even though starting out it was a shameful attempt for a bunch of white guys to play the blues, the Stones help bring blues music to the white masses at a time in America when it wasn't acceptable for the white middle class to listen to blues music. My how times have changed, and I am glad they have. The Stones opened up the door for numerous bands to follow.....The Who, Zep, just to name a few.
