Henry Clay 12 Cov Cath 4

Featured Replies

He is average at best. I could see that spot still switching players.

I heard this player had seven errors down in Lexington last weekend and went without hit.

It appears from what I can see second base is by committee but short stop seems to be having just as many problems if not more? (can anyone inform me?)

From the sources i have come to a decision that Cov Cath's middle infield is relatively weak. Who knows, maybe they will experiment with Maile at 2nd or short. That may solve there problems.:jump::jump:

I don't think that's going to happen anytime soon. But if CCH middle infield keeps kicking the ball around the way they have and not adding any meaningful offense, there should indeed be changes. Unfortunatley, "should" and "will" seem to be at polar extremes for CCH.

If Holocher gets removed from Short Stop i expect there to be a person who donates a lot of money to take his place, maybe he can out-bid him for the spot.

What are this Lafever kids strengths?

Freshman and JV shortstop the last 2 years. Started out in the outfield but moved to 2nd base in the 4th game due to lack of a real 2nd baseman. I expect him to keep the spot though. I was told the only reason he wasn't there in the beginning of the season was he broke his ankle in the off season and still is not 100%.

Maybe the answer that CCH needs at shortstop, huh?

Then why is he still in the lineup!

So he goes from OF(which includes more range as a fielder) to a second baseman? Loss of Shover is killing the Colonels.

Not killing them, but definitely putting a little more confusion into the system. And in the OF you don't get as many balls which is why i think he was in the OF. Shovers bat is what the Colonels are missing more than anything.

Well the battle for Varsity SS last year was between Holocher and Lafever. It ended up going to Holocher.

Maybe it shouldn't have.

It's a lose-lose situation for the Colonels from the looks of things.

So did they put him away from the ball to prevent errors?

No he was rehabbing his ankle still. Read my earlier statements. It is still not 100% as we speak.
