Take the amazing Fla run out of it and look at the SEC. Who really thinks the Big Ten is good (as a whole conference). Yeah they have the most final four appearances over the last ten years, big deal. The WHOLE conference isn't very good. Look at how many teams in the Big East have won a national championship. I agree, the BEAST should be better, they have a bigger pool to pull from. Looking at last night as an example, the second team beat the first place SEC team by 19 on a neutral court. The proof is in the pudding. The whole "my conference" blah, blah, blah, gets old to me anyway. It's like saying my brother can beat your brother up. I don't think simply looking at final four appearances is the best way to rank a conference. Honestly, I don't think there is a way to rank conferences.

However, I like the Final Four as a measuring stick. I think it takes all of the teams when they should be prepped and ready to play their best basketball and brings them together. I'm not promoting one conference over another I'm just putting up the facts, but over time a trend is a trend. Why do the ACC and Big Ten do so well in the tournament? Is it because their conference prepares them for it?

I believe that was the point of the thread though. "Big East total dominance". To me, total dominance would have to include dominating the tournament.

And that is why I disagreed with point of the thread, and somehow got sidetracked onto this tangent. I don't think any conference is totally dominant.
