W. East's Holton Gets DI-A Offer

Featured Replies

Shenard Holton, a 6'0 190lb RB/SS for Warren East, picked up his first DI-A offer from Ball State today. Holton was HM All-State in the CJ last year as a Jr. and helped lead the Raiders to a 11-3 record and a Class 4A, Region 2 Championship, the first in the school's history.

Holton is the first East player to receieve a DI-A offer since Stephen Anthony in 1997. Anthony went on to play for Indiana. Evan Brewer signed with WKU in 2002 and played at the DI-A level when WKU moved to DI-A last year.

Courtney Dalcourt (QB/Ath.) of Franklin Simpson, Warren East's top rival in District 2, has been offered by Stanford.

I was very impressed with Holton when the Raiders visited Lone Oak. He's a legit Division I prospect.

Was the offer for DB or RB? I'm guessing it's as a DB.

Does Stanford have a position in mind for Dalcourt?

Holton was offered as a Saftey/OLB.

I would bet Dalcourt is being recruited as a DB as well, though a FS person might be able to better answer that.

This is a great thing for a good football player. Holton and Dalcourt are both very good football players and it is great to see some kids from schools in this area other than Bowling Green getting offers this early in the recruitng season. Congrats to both young men.
