Word at Boone County is that Farris may be asked to do the same thing. Who knows... this years player of the year may come down to who has more saves.:sssh:

Does Isler even throw a curveball? I dont think i saw him throw one last year. Nutini is a good pitcher, Sainola has to prove himself since this is his first year of pitching varsity. After looking at the rotation i think in order for Cov Cath to win the 9th they will have to play strong defense and outscore the opponents. None of these are shut down pitchers. The ball will be put in play, and there D will have to make alot of plays this year.

Isler, due to Tommy John surgery, was not able to throw a curveball last year. This year he has strengthened his arm and can throw whatever he'd like. I will disagree with you and say Nutini is a shut down pitcher IMO. Sainola pitched in the Semi-finals of the region last year and got the win so i think he has already proved something in that sense. Niehaus isn't a shutdown pitcher per say, he is a pitcher who will get ground balls. He won't be the one striking out 10, but WILL, in fact, be the one getting the tack on the Wins column more often than most.
