CovCath loves to penetrate and kick for three. Holmes loves to attack the paint. I think we can all agree on this. The team that will win tonight, will have to make their opponent respect the weak part of their game. We will learn a lot in the first quarter...

 

If CovCath can make Holmes respect the drive and suck in defenders on penetration...and make shots...CovCath will find themselves in Lexington next Wednesday.

 

If Holmes can make CovCath respect the outside shot, it will open up the the entire offense for the Bulldogs. This could ultimately lead to a 10-15 point victory. The fact that Jamel Riley went 5-5 from the arch last night may be on the minds of CovCath defenders. We shall see.

 

Basically what I am saying is... The team that excels at their weakness in the early going will likely win the game. Who will dictate tempo? We'll know this answer by about 7:15.

I didnt think Holmes had good enough shooters to beat Cov Cath from out there, but after Jamel going 5 for 5 last night, im a little worried. But i think Cov Cath plays much better defense on the perimeter that does Dixie

Jamel Riley has always been a great shooter but is overshadowed by the starters. I can guarantee you if he's in the game, the players in with him will try to get him the ball out there beyond the arc.

 

But as far as CCH being better on the perimeter defensively, I agree but all of his 3's last night were contested. Not one was wide open.
