Any thoughts on the Buc's? I think we need a QB, and we need to sign Derek Anderson from the Browns. Simms just doesn't seem to be the man, Garcia is great, but he'll be 40 soon.

DA justed signed with the Browns, so the only way to get him is through a trade.

They need to address RB, WR and DL before they worry about the QB position. I would say look for the DL and RB help in free aganecy. I would reccomend going after Travis Leboy or bringing Jevon Kearse home to Florida. Use the first pick in the draft on a WR (there's a ton of them!), second round pick on an RB (maybe on Kevin Smith out of C. Florida) and use the third pick on the QB that they develop for the next year or two while Garcia plays out his career (Josh Johnson out of San Diego is the pick, in my opinion).

I'm a big Bucs fan and so is Swamprat. I don't know any others on here.

The Bucs have a lot of needs. I think Garcia will be fine for another couple of years but if they had a chance to get one to work with I would do it. They need to move some of the QB's they have sitting around doing them no good. It would be nice if Plummer would come back so they could get a pick for him. The defense is getting old but they have plugged in some nice young guys like Adams, Neice etc.

I would definatly go find a WR. Galloway is getting really old (it's crazy how fast he is for an older guy), Clayton isn't improving so there is very little threat in their passing game. They have a few TE's but I would try to get one that stretches the field better.

Caddy worries me! It's going to be interesting to see how he bounces back. The good news was the job that Grahm did filling in. I also think they have to get better on the oline. Honestly I was really happy with the Bucs last year. They have A LOT of needs IMO but are still playing at a high level.

I'd get better on the oline, WR,Dline, TE then I'd start grooming a corner,QB and maybe take a flyer on a RB. Really they are in a position to take the best player available because they have a lot of holes that are going to have to be filled in the next couple of years.

The Bucs need to get younger in many areas. QB, WR, defensively. They have a lot of older players on their roster and need a few good drafts to build up depth and eventually replace these older guys.

I would not spend any money on Jevon Kearse. Can't stay healthy...

They signed FA center Jeff Faine from the Saints and resigned linebacker Antoine Cash on Friday. Yesterday they signed former Bear tight end John Gilmore and Chiefs defensive lineman Jimmy Wilkerson.

They are playing in the Jevon Walker sweepstakes and are after Randell Gay.

Gay is supposed to be visiting One Buc Place tomorrow as is Teddy Lehman and Demorrio Williams.

Ben Troupe was here yesterday and looks like a sign for the Bucs. At least Ben Troupe thinks so.

As far as the draft:

Gruden is happy with Luke McCown and he did have a couple of good outings when Garcia was hurt. I don't see Gradkowski developing into a true starter and the jury is still out as to whether Chris Simms will ever be able to make a complete comeback. However, I don't see the Bucs going after a QB with any early round picks.

I would take a flier on him for the right price. Tampa might want to because he is a Florida native. If it doesn't work because of health and you get him cheap, you work at improving the position next year. If it works, it is a great signing for the Bucs.

The Bucs have a ton of money...so I guess they could sign him.

I wouldn't sign Kearse especially for much money. Gay is gone to the Saints so he is out. J.Walker could be a great addition. The Cowboys are looking at him too which would be scary with T.O. He has said he wants to be the #1 though. If I were the Bucs I would be looking hard at Randy Moss! That would change that offense right now with Galloway on the other side. Talk about stretching the field!

The Bucs picked up Ben Troupe from the Titans (old Gator) that can stretch the field some. I think they also picked Griese back up. They also got Teddy Lehman who has been a flop but might find his niche in Kiffins defense.

There are some rumblings that the Cards are really messing up not getting Larry Fitz signed. Supposedly the Eagles and Bucs have inquired about possibly trading for him. It is not likely that the Cards will let him go but he is a BIG cap problem and the Bucs could afford him. They REALLY need somebody like Fitz to bring some life to the offense.

Fitzgeralds contract for the next 2 years is CRAZY. He will be getting something like $14 million next year and $17 million the year after. The Cardinals are not smart.

I have no clue why Tampa traded anything more than a bag of chips for Brian Griese.

Troupe is a good signing IMO.

I agree with you on all of the above. I'm a Fitz fan and a Bucs fan so I would love to see him there. His contract is huge but there are so many guys getting overpaid that I could handle signing one of the best WR's in the league for a big salary. I think RB's+WR's are pretty easy to find but he is in the elite group IMO.

Word is the Bears got a 7th rounder.

I wonder if they took Griese as insurance for cheap to trade another one of the QB's on the roster? Any buzz down there Swamprat?
