Larry Thacker, Harrison Bailey and A. J. Cambell (the worst ref in the 14th) but that's out of the question. I thought this was the best game in this region all year. Both teams played great and the charge that took place in the final 10 seconds was the worst call I've ever seen. I agree 100% that it was a charge but the fact that they fouled Davidson out when he was laying on the floor at half court from fighting for a loose ball was just pothetic. A.J. Cambell should have received the MVP in this game for that call alone. I'm not saying that if Davidson had not fouled out Jackson would have won, I still think Breatitt would have come out on top. But the fact is that one call changed the view on this game from a fan's perspective. I think both of these teams have a chance in the region cause let's face it is the 14th but I would like to see one game between

Breathitt and Jackson where we can at least say it was a good called game. Congrats two both teams, and to Breathitt on the win, both teams have one more game and if the draw goes each teams way we might see a Jackson City - Breathitt County regional final.

I don't think we should post Referee names on the board. They do the best job they can do and sometimes they make mistakes just like players and coaches. Both teams played hard and deserve a lot of credit. The fact is that the game was called even throughout with each team going to the line about the same. Breathitt shot 10 free throws, 4 of them in the last 10 seconds, and Jackson shot 8 free throws. I think after any game that both sides could look back and say that the refs gave the other team the breaks, but the fact is that fans only see and remember the ones that went against them. Two or three breaks in the first quarter can change a game just as much as a break in the fourth quarter. It was a classic district championship game and lets all move on to the region. Oh yeah, AJ's last name is not Campbell.

Post their names, that was the worst call I have ever seen in my life and I'm a Breathitt fan. The fact is Davidson was laying on the other end of the court and got his 5th foul for a charge that another kid did! First of all, 90% of the referees probably wouldn't call the charge in the last few seconds on a made basket that would have given Jackson City the game, and then to call it on the worng kid and put Jackson's best player out of the game with still a few seconds to go and refuse to confer with the other refs is inexcusable! The guy was horrible and I sure do understand Jackson City's disappointment but it's on film if anyone wants to question the facts.

90% of the referees would have been wrong not to call the charge and give Jackson City the game. It was a charge and it would have been wrong not to call it. The Breathitt kid got into position took the charge and saved the game. They may have mistakenly called it on the wrong kid, but it was definitely a charge. Davidson did not play well anyway, 4 points I think and the other kid hit several threes, so it could have worked in Jackson's favor

Glad you're so sure! On most collisions like that half the people in the gym think it's a charge, half think it's a block. But you can say for 100% certain that the kid had both feet set before the player took his last dribble? That's why in most cases with the game on the line, in the final seconds it's a no call and if it goes in fine, if not then someone rebounds. And how do you "mistakenly" call the charge on the wrong kid, when the kid is on the floor at the other end of the court? And then refuse to even ask the other refs? The guy was bad,no two ways about it.

A.J.'s last name is Davis people, if your going to talk about someone at least get it right. He came from the 10th region a couple years ago and of course you can see why he was run off from their. Arrogant is an understatement, that is why he would not confer with his 2 partners on the game, very experienced 2 guys that they were could of helped him out of a mess if he would of let them. I guess that is what happens when coaches don't go and rate officials like they supposed to do, Breathitt's went and Jackson City's didn't, so Breathitt gets who they want and Jackson City don't get to argue who is put on the game, Congrats to both teams on making the region, sorry that the win had to be tarnished though!

Thanks, I was wondering from where he came. I've seen a lot of 14 region BB and never noticed him before that game.

If that game is reviewed he will not be allowed to ref a preschool game. Poor calls on both side. I was there and here is my 2 cents. If it is a no call Jackson City up one with Breathitt's ball 10 seconds remaining. I do believe that Breathitt had the horses and time to get a good look. Who knows probably same outcome. I hate it for both teams that Breathitt kids should get to enjoy a great win with out the blemish of controvesy and I feel for the Jackson kids because they caught a bad break. But I would like to congratulate both teams on a game that will remembered for a very long time. It was really hard felt and emotional. As a fan great to watch. Good job to both coaches as well.

So you are saying that if a kid Sprints down the floor after trying to get a loose ball, gets into position and takes a hard hit from an offensive player who is going full speed, that he should be rewarded for that effort by a no call because it is late in the game. A charge is a charge no matter if it is in the first 10 seconds of a game or the last 10 seconds. How can you even suggest that a player should not be rewarded for a great defensive effort because it is late in the game. Should the defensive just step to the side and not take the charge because it is late in the game. If Breathitt blocked the shot instead of taking a charge, should they give it back to Jackson and let them try again because it is late in the game. A charge is a charge and I applaude the kid for having the instincts and determination to get in position and take the charge. He saved the game with this great defensive effort and your trying to say it shouldn't have been called.

No tarnished win, but it was a hard fought 4th quarter.

Questionable calls should not decide the game. Case in point a few years ago at Powell. Referee calls a foul on Breathitt, under Breathitt's basket as time expired. They walk the length of the floor and Powell makes one of their two shots (double bonus) and wins by 1 point.

Your great defensive play could have gone either way. Your ref helped Breathitt from the time he called the T on Jackson City when a kid (incidently the same kid he wrongly called the 5th foul on on the above play) for telling the ref to call it on both ends, no cusing or anything like that. Most referees would have said "shut up and play".

Was it a charge? Definite maybe. Do you call it in the last seconds of the game? Some would, some wouldn't. I can understand either side of either question, but I will never accept any explanation for getting the wrong jersey number on a foul call in which the two players in question are 50 feet apart, with one on his stomach on the other side of the half-court line. That is not a judgement call, it is not a mistake. It is theft.

I think the technical was called because the player hit a Breathitt player in the jaw with his elbow.
